The Neutral Development Project Inc. is a non-profit organization founded to help impoverished areas build basic infrastructure in a nonaligned (“neutral”) environment. We target areas on the periphery of extremist spheres of influence, specifically groups most at risk of being drawn into harmful religious or political conflict.
The money from this event will be combined with other NDP-sponsored events and deployed to help those without access to clean water in both the Horn of Africa and Haiti. NDP is entering its fourth year in partnership with Water.org (www.water.org), a Missouri based group that specializes in building wells, sanitary facilities and irrigation systems for villages in Africa without sufficient access to clean water. Water.org is also involved in a number of microfinance projects around the world. NDP will ensure that funds raised by this event will continue to fund initiatives in the Horn of Africa and Haiti.
Our objective is to learn first-hand what goes into such an undertaking so that we might eventually implement an effective project independently. Water.org has expressed a willingness to involve NDP personnel on the ground level. To avoid depleting funds raised through NDP sponsored events, individual transportation to the Horn of Africa will be paid for by the NDP members themselves.
